STEM

In the 21st century, scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past

The importance of Science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects can’t be overemphasized because innovations and creativity hinges on them. Africa needs to be innovative towards problem solving and advancing the continent beyond its current standings.

Millions of African kids do not have access to quality education. In fact, over 70 % of children in Africa are out of school and this is a very worrying trend and challenge. The situation is even worst in rural areas as there is stack lack of infrastructure and human resources to provide quality education to kids.

Young people understand the importance of education but there’s a huge problem with infrastructure in terms of learning facilities and centers as well as teachers to teach STEM excellently.

Young people say Education is one of the issues they care about most, and we believe they deserve quality education. Students in rural areas are consistently challenged with barriers to a high-quality STEM education.

The shortages of Math, English and Science Teachers in rural areas, and limited access to basic learning resources makes it more challenging for them to be exposed to STEM programs.

At Africaagility, we’ve been putting both human and capital resources to use towards delivering quality STEM education to children in rural areas. Our mission is not just to teach but equip teachers to teach excellently to bring out the best in children. With the future of Africa depending on innovation, we are at fore front in ensuring every child have access to quality education.

Our job is to see them thrive and empowered to lead the line toward the development of Africa as a continent.

WHY STEM

OUR GOALS

Expand and Improve STEM learning in rural communities via support for teachers in these communities by increasing their human capital and creating a diverse workforce, this includes the recruitment of unemployed college graduates.

Help rural areas support and sustain high-quality science learning. Use technology to support STEM practice, focus on AI as many people in the current rural workforce fear the continuing evolution of technology and its impact on their sustainability

Introducing STEM practices like the use of AI to improve farming and ranching thereby developing a new generation of experts. With an improvement in Agriculture, we can reduce hunger.

We are also addressing the isolation that some rural educators feel by using distance learning networks to build connections between scientists and teachers via online education.
